Casio Exilim EX-FS10

$350
Split-second shots are never easy. No matter how quick you are on the draw, you're left to the mercy of your camera's inner workings. And if you've got a slow camera (or cameraphone), you have little chance of capturing the exact moment your nephew kicked his goal or daughter landed the perfect gymnastics move. To the rescue: this Exilim's superpowered burst mode. Most decent cameras—even digital SLRs—max out at three or four shots in a second. This 9-megapixel, 3x-optical-zooming compact camera can take up to 30. Just press the shutter, and the shots are collected almost instantly. Users can then flip through the catalog of pictures and choose which ones they want to keep and discard, making it easy to get the perfect pose. And if you want to shoot lower-quality video, this little point-and-shoot can fire away a jaw-dropping 1000 shots in a second, allowing for ultra-slow-motion movies.

And while Casio makes even faster cameras, like the EX-F1, we feel this camera's pocketability is worth the trade-off for slightly slower speeds.
